Dear Perspective Preschool Family:
As registration for preschool approaches, I often get asked the question by parents in the community, “How do I know if a preschool is right for my child?”
This is a very important question, and one that almost every parent across America will ask at one time or another. At the Learning Tree we strive to help you answer by giving parents a list of questions they should be asking when visiting a prospective preschool. Questions such as: “How many lead teachers do you have in each classroom; what is the ratio of children to teachers; what type of curriculum do you use, and is it used at every level, in every age group? Do you have field trips, special visitors, and does the program grow at each individual age milestone, or are all the age groups lumped together in one class?”
These are just a sampling of the many questions parents should be thinking about. This is also why at Learning Tree, we encourage families to come in and experience our classrooms first hand. If you can observe and participate in the classroom experience before registering, then you will know in fact, that our program is a good fit for your family.
Listed below, I have highlighted a few of the many reasons Learning Tree will be a excellent choice for your family.
The Learning Tree was created to provide families in the community with an exceptional preschool program that meets the needs of today’s child. The importance of a good preschool program cannot be stressed enough. It is now scientific fact that 3 and 4 year olds have an enormous capacity to learn and develop. If this capacity is not stimulated during these years, children miss a critical opportunity. A quality preschool program should help children to develop reading, writing and math foundations as well as social skills that prepare them for later success in school and life. Preschool programs are successful when they contain the following elements: Parents as both volunteers in the classroom and partners in their child’s preschool experience; well educated and well trained staff; low child to teacher student ratios; at least two lead teachers in every classroom; and when extra special attention is paid to each child’s social, emotional and cognitive growth.
At Learning Tree, we have achieved every single one of these elements. We conscientiously developed a unique environment here. Fun, inspirational, educational, and comforting are the words our parents use to describe our program.
We hope your family will also get to experience and enjoy the Learning Tree. It is indeed a place where hugs and smiles abound, and the sound of children’s laughter echoes down the halls.
Sincerely,
Betsy Durant, Director Learning Tree Preschool
